Its a wonderful life...

Well everything is going good since I last wrote. Owen is just getting so big. We had his nine month check up on Sat. the 22nd of December. All is well with him. He is a big boy...23 pounds which puts him at the 90th percentile. I gave him some sliced peaches the other day and he did ok eating them. He is a bit finicky with new foods. It may take him a bit to want to try something new..especially since he just got the taste for the mushed up stuff. He is also cruising the couch and pulling himself up on it, all by himself. I swear he says mom or mama at times. Still just a bunch of babbling. HE IS SO CUTE when he smiles. Lots of whining these days. I think he has more teeth coming in. So far there are 4 on top and 2 on bottom. Visible that is. He is going through the stranger anxiety thing. He wants nothing to do with people he does not know. Especially when he is tired!! He has a mind of his own that is for sure. He thinks it soooo funny when you tell him "no" and when you pull his hand off things. I was telling the doctor and she said I should read books on The Strong Willed Child. Luckily my mom already got me one. The doctor also said children who are strong willed are normally very bright. Like the sound of that. I was reading in a book I have that talks about the day you were born, and it says he is destined to be a lawyer.....I can fly with that career for him. LOL!!! I guess were a ways from that day..but I really will support him in any decision he makes. Owen had his first Christmas party at his Grandpa Hoogenbooms. He had fun opening his gifts. He got an outfit from Grandma and Grandpa Hoogenboom and a duckie toy from his Great Grandma and Grand pa Hoogenboom. His Grandma Gardner sent him 50 bucks..which we put into his savings account. The boy is gonna have money for college one day..I will be sure of that. My friend Stacy got him a super cute toy that is a giraffe that has openings in its head, legs and arms and you take little balls that came with it and drop it down its head or arms and the balls come out of his feet. It makes sounds once you drop the ball. Owen is really good at putting the balls in the holes. It is so cute. So far that is what he has gotten for Christmas. Were going to Grandma Murphy's today (Dec. 24) and my mom is also coming over. It should be fun.

So far so good for Wes and me too. Wes is doing great at work. Work is going pretty good for me too. They are talking about giving South Bend the locality pay of Chicago. That would ROCK!!! Especially since I am part time. I seem to be doing pretty good on keeping my work load down. I am excited about that. I just wish my drive was not as long. I would much rather be home with Owen. But if we get the locality pay increase then I do not mind at all driving there cuz it will be a nice increase. Plus I think Bush is going to give us a 3.5% increase this year. A lot better than his 1.2% increase last year...He also gave us December 24th off work which is pretty cool of him. I do not think that has ever happened since I have worked there. You have to at least work half a day. So that is cool..

I am seriously gaining weight big time. I need to go on a diet. Wes and I are going to take turns getting out by ourselves and I think I am going to use my time to go work out at the GYM. Yep I really really need to do just do it. And stop eating so many sweets all at once.

Well better get back to bed or I am not going to function properly in the AM when Owen gets me up.

Merry Christmas...

One year today

Wes and I have been married for one year today. How cool is that. We were talking about how fast this year has gone by. It is like our lives have been put into fast forward. We have a had a lot happen this year. Owen was born, we have been in our house for two years, Sasha about died twice, I lost my wedding rings, I freaked out about going back to work..etc..It has all happened so fast. It is crazy.

Wes and I went on a date last night. It was fun. We finally got to go eat at the Chubby Trout. I got the Chubby Trout for dinner. It was great. Wes get sauteed blue gill. YUMMY also. It was a great place. I had a couple of glasses of wine with dinner and boy did I ever get buzzed. I actually zonked out when we got home. It made me so tired. Also yesterday I got my hair dyed. It looks so cool. It has red and really blond highlights in it. I LOVE IT!! For the first time ever I love my hair so much. It cost a bundle though.

Today Owen and I went to yoga class. He about wore me out. He is super active boy. He is all boy. He was farting and laughing about it and he was flirting with the one little girl that was in the class. It was so cute. Next week I will be able to post a picture of the class. It is the last one and were gonna do a group photo. I wish I would have had one of the Bradley class..that of course was before Owen.

We took Owen to get his picture with Santa at the mall today. He loved him. Thought he was a fun guy. It was cute. I wonder if he will react the same next year or if he will be scared. I thought he would be scared because last night when we dropped Owen off at Tim and Lauras Owen saw Dubec and FREAKED OUT. It was cute and sad all at the same time. He screamed at the top of his lungs. Of course by the time we picked him up he loved Dubby Due. It was too funny.

Not much else happening. Just a few short weeks until Owen's first Christmas. How fun is that!

I need to do this Daily

So much has happened the last few weeks. Thanksgiving was fun. We went to Grandma Kelly's and Grandpa Mikes. We flew around a crazy helicopter toy, not sure who liked that more...it was so much fun. Wes and I ate some mashed tattos and some yum yum corn casserole.

I still have not found my wedding rings. But I have found a new pair at Sams Club that I really really like. They defantly have some bling to them. They also cost a small fortune. But I think I am worth it..even though I should have never lost my first pair. Now watch we will buy these and my original pair will show up.. I guess I could get them sized and wear them on the other hand. That could be cool. I am ready to look more girlie and like a super hot momma. LOL!! I better start going to the GYM. That is my new years resolution. Oh and I am over the fact that Owen ate my rings. I think he would have shown signs of eating them by now..since it has been over two weeks. So I know he is all good. As for Sasha I still suspect her.

Work has been flying by lately. I feel like my days are just not long enough. I think it is the time change and that it is dark soon after I get home. But for the most part it is going good. I still have not got my hardship move paperwork turned in. I just do not have the time to work on it. Sadly I really am close to being finnihed. I need to get it in. I would love to be closer to home. I think I could get a lot more done too.

I bought a sewing machine. I want to learn how to sew so bad. I have always enjoyed hand sewing so I know being able to create something would rock. I want to make my own curtains for the living room too. I am so excited. I alreay have a plan and its all drawn out. So hopefully by next summer when the living room will be painted I can get them made. I may need grandma Gardner or Hoogenboom to come over and help me out with the sewing machine. Speaking of Grandma Gardner. She had a beautiful quilt made for me and Wes for our wedding gift. I just got it the other day. It is hand sewn. OMG!!! I love it. I can not wait to lay it out on my bed. I want to wash it first to get it soft but I want to get some natural detergent so it will be gental on it. I do not want it to get ruined. She said to take it easy with the quilt because it is hand sewn and does not have the stregnth that a sewing machine quilt would have. I love the quilts. We have many of them and I could have a 100 more. I just adore them.

Mike F. had his baby. A little girl. She is so adorable.

Now my little Owen: What we all have been waiting for. He is doing so good. He is now starting to eat solid foods. I got him to eat an entire jar of carrots the other day. He is now scooting like crazy..especially if he wants something. He really responds to things. He is wanting to actually sit up from the lay down position. He still spits up a lot:( He is getting teeth like crazy. All of this is happening at once. Its crazy. My little newborn is becoming his own person with such a wonderful personality. Oh and he loves the bath. We bought him a duckie tub that quacks. He claws my face off trying to get in there. Its so funny. He is totally out growing all his clothing and he has moved up into the size 4 diapers. AND he loves to dance..when he hears music. It is so cute.
